In two new project communes, meetings to vote community based groups organized from 8 to 19 April. 19 community based groups established with 134 members, 100% of the group members are the Muong ethnic. Of these, 14 groups were responsible for operating irrigation works, 4 groups – running water works and 1 group – underground bridge.

Each community based groups consisted of 6-8 people, of whom direct used the works. The villagers themselves set criteria and then voted the group members. Some typical criteria as having knowledge in relevant fields, honesty, enthusiastic with community work… etc.

Through the meetings, more than 1,000 people were provided sufficient information related to the project as well as raising awareness on meaning of operating maintenance works regularly.
