In March 2020, community groups in 6 project hamlets of 3 communes Tan My, Yen Nghiep, An Nghia, Lac Son district, Hoa Binh province continued to provide direct legal aid communication for 51 cases in their household. Through the consultation, people and their family members have a better understanding of marriage and family laws, domestic violence prevention laws, gender equality, children’s laws, divorce, child marriage, recognition of violent behavior, etc. In particular, the community group of Tua 2 hamlet, An Nghia commune helped connect Ms. Bui Thi Can to the Legal Aid Center to support her son’s marriage and family procedures. At the end of the consultation session, Ms. Bui Thi Hanh, chairwoman of the Women’s Union of Tan My Commune shared: “It is extremely effective for the community group to provide initial legal advice to people at home. People can openly share the problems they are facing and get advice, answer questions, and connect with stakeholders to protect their interests.
