Project funded by Irish Aid: Training on Community Management for community groups of 02 project communes Ngoc Son and Ngoc Lau, Lac Son district, Hoa Binh province

In 3 days of March from 17 to 19, 2016 at the hall of the CPC of Ngoc Son and Ngoc Lau communes, Lac Son district, Hoa Binh province, 03 training courses on Community Management for members of 13 new community groups of the project “Pilot of Community-based Operation and Maintenance (O&M) of communal infrastructures in Program 135” was organized.

Thanks to participation method, the facilitator helped the participants to understand the approach of community management, process, values ​​and principles of Community Management in the operation and maintenance of infrastructure works in the locality. The participants also absorbed 5 principles of community management associated with operation and maintenance.

In addition, the participants also have the opportunity to practice some of facilitation skills and methods as visual on big sheet paper, presentations, group discussions, brainstorming. However, this is the first training course in a series of capacity building activities for the community so most participants still quite timid, lack of initiative. But, just as the same with other  project communes in the first 2 years, members of community groups will quickly catch up and actively participate in the project activities in general and community activities  in particular.

Mr. Huy – member of community group of Cang village said “After participating in this training I feel that I understand what a community really is and hopefully other participants and I will be able to share the trained knowledge to other villagers”
