Project funded by Irish Aid: Training on maintenance and operation techniques and planning for maintenance infrastructure works for community groups in Ngoc Lau and Ngoc Son communes

03 training courses on maintenance and operation techniques and planning for maintenance infrastructure works for community groups were held from March 26 to April 02, 2016 at the hall of Ngoc Son and Ngoc Lau CPC, Lac Son district, Hoa Binh province.

After the training courses, the members of the community groups understood the concept of operation and maintenance of infrastructure works, the benefits of regular maintenance; frequent damages of the works, how to detect and fix the damage and procedures and processes of handing over the works. For the better understanding structure and function of the categories and how to detect the damage of the works, field visit organized in the training courses. The participants had opportunities to detect damage and propose solutions to repair for all kinds of works.

The participants practiced all steps to build a plan of operation and maintenance artesian water works. Mr. Bui Van Dat, Hau 2 village said: “I like the field activities of the training course most. I myself measured the damage of the works and knew how to calculate material for repairing. Previously we did not know why the works were damaged and how to fix, but today thank to the project training I knew how to calculate necessary material and budget for maintenance. “
