On November 12, 2018, the Irish Secretary of State, Mr Ciarán Canon, T. D, Ambassador Cait Moran and the delegation of the Irish Embassy in Vietnam visited and attended the groundbreaking ceremony of community-based infrastructure construction projects in Sung hamlet, Cao Son commune, Da Bac district, Hoa Binh province

After 6 months of participating in capacity-building activities and learning experiences from other communities, the Dao community in Sung hamlet – a particularly disadvantaged hamlet of Cao Son commune, Da Bac district has started the construction of sewer works to improve travel conditions and reduce the impact of flash floods locally. This is the first time that the community here has managed the construction of infrastructure by itself. The project was funded by Irish Aid.
