During 2 days from 15- 16 April 2021, the RIC Center surveyed to collect information on socio-economic conditions in Suoi Giang commune, Van Chan district, Yen Bai province to serve the Development of strategic project areas in the coming period of RIC.
Coming to Van Chan district, the first place we stopped was Suoi Giang commune and it is also the commune RIC conducted the survey. The Center’s first impression of Suoi Giang commune is not only a fresh and cool place but also the people, especially the Mong ethnic group are very gentle and friendly.
In the morning of April 15, Mr. Le Van Hai – the Director of RIC Center had a working session with leaders of Van Chan district to discuss the Center’s goals, orientations as well as wishes in development projects for the local. At the same time, he also expressed his wish to receive support from all levels of leaders in the Van Chan district during his survey to collect initial information on the local socio-economic condition.

In the meeting with the leaders of the Van Chan district, we clarified more information about the economic life as well as the society and desired field of development of the people here. Through that, in the meeting, the RIC Center mentioned the programs and projects that are going to be taking place in the Van Chan district, especially in Suoi Giang and Suoi Bu communes.

Besides the meeting with the People’s Committee of Van Chan district, the RIC Center went to Pang Cang village and Giang B village, Suoi Giang commune to collect relevant information on the socio-economic condition, potential, opportunities and difficulties that people here face. Especially, it is necessary to prioritize needs to solve the problems of the people.

In addition, the Center also visited models of Shan Tuyet Tea Cooperative / Cooperative Groups – the main income-generating crop for people in the Suoi Giang commune. Through the talks, the Center understood more and had an objective view of the economic life of the people here.

At the end of the 2-day field trip in April, the meekness and innocence of the people in the ancient Shan Tuyet tea area made a strong impression on the staff of the RIC Center as well as promoting us to implement development projects to improve socio-economic life, support people to overcome difficulties and have a better life.
